Animals Count to contest 2010 elections
At Animals Count's successful third Party Conference on 19 September, the members decided that Animals Count should contest the 2010 General Elections in at least one area. The members were presented with research data from different constituencies regarding the animal-friendliness (or rather, unfriendliness) of several MPs. Animals Count decided we will not stand against an animal-friendly candidate likely to win.

Meat the Truth DVD available from Animals Count
The award-winning Meat the Truth documentary, produced by the Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation (the scientific bureau of the Dutch political Party for the Animals) is about the inconvenient truth that Al Gore didn't mention; that the livestock sector is responsible for 18% of global warming gases. Reduction in meat consumption is therefore the most important measure to combat global warming.
The English version of the DVD is now available from Animals Count.
